So, I've been thinking. With the introduction of two (three if you count the watcher) end game raids as well as the 'grouping' with IC, how many people would be interested in trying to get into as much of this content as possible? I know that with the watcher there was a time there where we were able to get a watcher group together pretty much once a week - and even if we only downed him 2 times, it at least was a fun experience that I think warrants an opportunity to look into if there is interest to try to see BG and DN as a group.

If you are interested, I would just like a reply in this thread - as well as the amount of radiance gear that you have. Ultimately the goal would be to get everyone to 120 radiance, and any time that I'm on if I'm not already grouping with someone, I'm more than happy to run SH ad nauseum until I have to get off until everyone who is interested in radiance gets their radiance.

I know there's some question about which raid we should try to get into first, and though DN is a 60 raid now, I'm thinking that we may get the best effort by trying to make our way through DN before attempting BG. If there is a question about that and people would prefer to head to BG first, that's understandable, but considering what I've heard about BG, we probably need the practice of a lower level raid before we move on...

Ideally what I'm going to be looking for when it comes to the group would be:

2 healers
2 Captains (or 1 captain/1 RK)
1 Lore master/Burglar (preferably LM)
2 Tanks (preferably Guard/Guard or Warden/Guard)
4 DPS types (melee or ranged)
1 Other

Now we may have some time to wait until we can really begin to get the group going, but I've been hearing that Saturday nights may be the best bet to get the most people available. If you have strong feelings either way about that, let me know as well so we can start discussing those options too.

I want to have a group of KF members (hopefully at least 8-10 strong) and then making up the rest from IC if we can get some support from some of the other kin groups.

These excursions probably won't be for the faint of heart. We will probably wipe, a lot, while we are working out the details, but with the practice that Sg gives us with moving as a group and distributive dmg, it should at least provide a fairly solid foundation to some of the core mechanics of the two new raids.

So yeah, my rant is done. Just post if you are interested in trying to come and the amount of radiance you have and if Saturday nights would be okay for you.

I'm down on Sappra and Saturday nights works great for me. Our SG run last night actually brought me to 120 rad so I'm good for gear (but really enjoy the new rad runs, so I'm down for helping everyone get theirs as well).

If we're going to start on Moria raids (which sounds good), my vote is actually for VM as I'd like to get 6/6 on the T1 set. But I've never been to VM or DN, so either sounds good. I just really want to try a real raid. Our skirmish raid was a loosely controlled mob, but was *tons* of fun. So I'd really like to experience a full on raid at least once. :D

Forgot to mention that practicing somewhere is excellent idea. The last few runs of SG where we struggled: my repair bill, although not one gold... wasn't that far off. :/

This might also be a good reason for me to hook my mic up. Then you can all listen to my silky smooth voice shouting... "words of encouragement". Especially to that <scornful voice>Elf who makes wagers against people stepping in bone piles, who then proceeds to step in one himself... :p

I'm definitely up for this kind of stuff. I've got my warden at something like 100 rad or so. Of course this is dependent on date / time and whether you require my services.

The biggest problem is that I'm almost always unavailable until 10:30 EST.

Nerves, great timing.

We had started to get some discussion internally regarding running BG just this weekend. Have you met Llemorin yet? He is a dwarf champ who has historically led KF into raid outings/wipings/huge repair bills.

A core group of KF'ers have loosely started considering to plan to get ready to think about doing BG; compiling character lists, rad levels etc. So, I think this thread will see a lot of activity shortly, or very shortly if mostly dwarves and hobbits.

As for me: Saturday evenings work well (friday as an alternative) since that is Sunday Morning in my part of the world (friday would be saturday morning)

Right now I have 1 lvl 65 character: Rune-Keeper (110 rad)
I feel I am in pretty good control of him and his capabilities, although I still miss using my in combat rez when it would be really nice to have landed it. Irks me that I keep missing it. I can Heal or DPS with the RK, but I'd like a couple more runs in SG as main Healer to hone my skills (I suppose DN or VM would do that as well)

I am raising up my Burglar at the moment (Level 62.5 Rad:60) as well and having simply a great time with him, which is wonderful since I did not like playing him much in Moria.

I have a 60 LRM as well, but he hasn't even entered SoM yet. Also GRD at 62 but like 30 rad maybe.

I will have some schedule issues in the near-mid future though which might cause problems. The weekend of Jan 23rd, I'm out. Then, the weekend of Feb 13th I'm out. Weekend of Feb 27th also likely to be a problem for me due to moving houses.

So, I'd like to go, like the idea of getting a "machine" going, timing for KF in general is good, but my personal timing is a bit glitchy.

Cheers,

Spazz

I'm up for doing VM/DN/DG. I'm one of the loonies that ran VM with Llem a while back. I currently have two toons with radiance gear. Vonabor(hnt) has 75 radiance and Theodrite(cpt) has 45 radiance, but he has 10 DG coins and 8 Lothlorien coins burnin' a whole in his pocket, so he could be VM/DN ready pretty quickly.

/signed up Happy

I also have a lvl 60 guardian and a lvl 58 mini with no radiance gear, but I'm sure we have better minis and tanks than mine Happy

Edit:
Cappy has 70 Radiance
Hunter has 75 Radiance

You can count me in. Fridays or Saturdays would be great. I have rad of 95. So count me in for DPS.

I'm definitely interested in getting more rad gear, and possibly raiding at some point. My LM has a pitiful 25 radiance, and my RK, who should soon hit 65, has 20. So obviously I need a lot of work Happy

Elavorn the Great, Bettor of Bone-pile Clutzes, Hero of Mirkwood, is ready any time.

Elavorn has 120 rad. As for my only other 65 alt, Silmacil the LM, he has like, um, 35 rad? :P

Okay - so this is who I've talked to so far interested in trying out DN strictly from kin.

Xiinadir
Tinurael
Cegee/Sevita
Brordir/Politito
Sappra
Theodrite/Vonabor
Zzal
Avwyn
Jezabel
Llemorin
Elavorn
Masbrand
Gildamon

How many would be up to committing to a run February 6th at around 8:30pm est? I know that some people were missing a few pieces, but we can work that out between now and then if need be.

If this looks like it may be a good start time for everyone, I'll start posting a few details about what we need to do to get ready for the raid.

While you may be working on the final raid pieces, another thing to consider would be dmg type. If you can swing getting the Beleriand dmg + Ancient Evil slayer scroll from Gathburz, that would help out a lot. Just something to think about.

This gives us 13 people ready so far who have expressed an interest in coming along and have one piece or less shy of getting the radiance needed for at least DN (which will be 65 with rounding - but preferably 70).

If I've missed you, let me know.

From IC - so far Nerves has mentioned he may be interested, so that may be a good start. Nerves - if you read this, if you have anyone else from your kin who may be interested as well, let me know because chances are we are probably going to need some alternate fill ins just in case.

That time and date should work well for Tin and I, Llem. I'm only chest and legs pieces shy, but shouldn't have any trouble getting them before this date.

The time works great for me, it's a date!

Now, I've been thinking about how to gear out for this and have a couple of questions:

1. I know that the minimum rad needed is 65, and I'm assuming more is better, but what is good enough? On Sappra I have 120, but find the stats on some of the new rad gear to be weaker than the the Moria T1 and so I run around with 80 (going from memory here). Is 80 good enough, or should I go in with 120?

2. Are our captains going to have IDoME traited? And is it going to be up permanently? Can it be cast in combat (for long boss fights and such)? I'll gear differently based on whether this is always up or not.

3. What consumables will we all need? I'm assuming all kinds of pots. Any idea roughly how many we'll go through? I usually have around 40 morale/powers and 20 of the others, do I need more for a run? Also assuming we'll all need both kinds of scrolls as well as +5 hope tokens, right? Again, any idea how many we'll go through?

Now that I've got my dual tales trait I always run with it. So, I can have one of the following up at all times (going from memory, I'll double check at home):

1. Tale of Warding and Heroism: +60 Will/Fate, +1770 armor, +1 hope (does not stack with anything)
2. Tale of Frost and Flame's Battle: +50 Vit +1948 Wound Resist, +450 Frost/Fire defense

I like to have #1 up at all times, but can switch depending on the situation or what the other mini has up. So let me know what would work best.

So for gearing up Sappra, I'd really like to know: What buffs will be up? (IDoME, Tale of Heroism?) and what rad should we shoot for?

1. With SoM, Radiance doesn't add hope. I'm not sure how much gloom the bosses give, so you may have a marginal bonus if you have more radiance, but really 70ish is enough.

2. If I'm on Theo, I'll have iDoME. And it will remain up as long as I remember it. It can be done IC.

3. I don't really know how much we'll need, but I'd say as much as you can. If you have 20 of each power/morale, plus 20 of each type of debuff, that should be sufficient, but I'd recommend doubling that. I would say if everybody has 5 hope tokens and 5 of each scroll, we'll be fine. If some people don't have them, you might want more just in case.

4. I'd say use 1. Armor > everything else in SoM/MoM

Those are my opinions... others may vary Happy
