Saturday Raid Event March 13th - (Either VM or DN)

So, since after the last post I was told that my 9 page thread is scaring people - I figured we would go ahead and set up a new thread for the next major raid that I'm leading on March 13th. The plans for this evening will be to run a quick turtle around 8:00 (to be done by 8:30 pm est) and then follow it up with the main raid starting promptly afterwards. It is perfectly acceptable to come to the turtle, but then not come to the main raid if necessary (or vice versa depending on class needs).


Our two options this evening are going to be either knocking out Vile Maw or Dar Narbugud.

If we do Vile Maw the minimum rad requirement would be 55. After last time I do think that it is going to be extremely important to have at least a level 65 Guardian handle the Watcher tanking. Spike dmg (based on what Poli said) was just too much for us with our last attempt. A couple of tokens and as much range/acid defense as you can get will also be beneficial.

For Dar Narbugud - same things as before - so I'll just link it from our other thread (remember 65 radiance for this one):

#1 - At least 25 of each Fear, Wound, Poison, Disease removal pots.
#2 - At least a handful of Morale/Power pots... These can easily be picked up by barter leaves in Gath or even back in Lothlorien if need be (of the lesser variety)
#3 - 3-4 Hope tokens a piece - +5 variety. Preferably the 30 min kind, but any can work.
#4 - A couple of warding/battle scrolls if you can swing it.


I've added a poll to this thread so you guys can help decide where we end up going. If you are interested and can commit to the run, please let me know either in game, in this thread, or via the raid sign up that will go up eventually. I have some basic class priorities in mind for the raid, so as we get the people who are interested to be set up it'll be easier to start making the cut for the instance.


As for this weekend, this gives a lot of people a lot of time to get up to the necessary radiance. There are a lot of people out there who are about 1-2 pieces away from being watcher ready and 2-3 pieces ready for DN. If we can help them out while I'm gone and hopefully knock out a few more rad runs, it can really begin to give us a lot more flexibility in the raid.


Vote on the poll, let me know if you are good for this weekend, and when I get back on Wednesday the 10th, I'll start coming online again (as well as make a decision as to where we are going based on the poll numbers).

I'll be on occasionally today/this evening between packing stuff, so hopefully I'll see some people in game - otherwise - have a great weekend everyone!

I voted DN.

Primarily because I was in the raid that started that and I'd like to see the rest of it.

I have never been in VM so I'd be thrilled to go in there as well.

65 Burglar : 60 Rad : Burgling
61 Guardian : 30 Rad : not fantastically geared
61 Lore Master : 10 Rad? : also not well geared

Any thoughts on should I be ramping up on GRD or LRM to have more options? Do we have GRDs out there??

Either one of the two would be good... We have more loremasters than guards geared at a DN level though - so that may be something to consider...

I voted DN, the unknown parts grab my interest more. I didn't fully read up on later fights in DN, but a few points of what I've seen is there's gonna be some hefty-ish spike damage later in there too...

Worse is agro wipes then the mob running off to someone else. Warden's hate these, I can guarantee I'll get the agro back and hold it, but doing it promptly is the problem, anyone whose ran in SG with me on Poli knows it takes a couple of seconds (unless my timing is lucky) to pull the agro back on the second boss after his punts. I have no snap agro, so a guard is much better suited to a fight like that, or god-forbid, even a champion.

If we do go here, and I am on Poli, I would suggest a well-equipped guardian in here also incase we need to alter strats. I can also run as off-tank instead, or bring Bro, although I'm not sure I remember how to play cappy :P

update on Guardian. Ran a bunch of GS over the weekend, I think I can do it in my sleep now. Missing Shoulders and Helm from Moria, figured to get those in Mirkwood, so, need me some SH runs peoples

I'm down for DN, but I'd follow Llem anywhere! I'm a groupie! A Llemonhead! A....uh.....sheep....no wait....a fan, yeah, lets say I'm a fan.

All kidding aside (just for a sec at least), Tin and I can play and we are up for whatever, DN is cool.

On a side note, Tin and I are still in need of DG tokens for rad gear and still itching for a Symbol drop.
